School tours

Starting a new school is a big step, and getting a glimpse of it beforehand can ease any uncertainty for both students and parents. We offer school tours throughout the year, and encourage all prospective families to take one as part of the Application Process outlined above.

Online tours are available, as we understand some families will be unable to attend in person. In-person school tours can be made throughout the year at the following times:

- Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM
- Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

When does the school academic year begin?

The academic year at Ambassador International Academy follows the KHDA calendar and begins in September. The school year comprises of three terms

  • Term 1: September – December
  • Term 2: January – March
  • Term 3: April – June
What are the age requirements for students enrolling in FS1/Pre-KG?

According to the UAE Ministry of Education Resolution no (24), Children must be 3 years old on or before 31 August when enrolling in FS1 or Pre-KG in schools starting in September of that year.

Can I arrange a school tour to familiarize with the various facilities that the school offers?

Yes, we are delighted to offer school tours all through the week (Monday to Friday) and Saturday during our open day.

  • Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM

My child is moving from a 13-year curriculum to a 12-year curriculum. What grade will they enter?

Placement depends on age and previous schooling. Our Admissions Team will guide you through the process.

What academic records are required for admission?

Applicants for Year 3 / Grade 2 and above must provide proof of previous schooling. Certificates from outside the UAE must be presented in English or Arabic. If issued in another language, they must be legally translated and authenticated before submission.

 

What is the language of instruction?

We offer international curricula, led and taught in English, while striving to excel in Arabic, science and technology and Islamic studies, with a culture fostered by Emirati values.

Does the school provide English language support for international students?

Yes! Our English Language Learning (ELL) program supports students across our IB programme, from Year 1/KG2 to Year12/Grade 11, ensuring a smooth transition.

What languages are taught, and at what age?

Students can study French and Spanish starting at age 5 (Year 1 / KG 2)

What is the school uniform policy?

All students from FS1 / Pre-KG to Year 13 / Grade 12 are required to wear the official school uniform. Uniform Policy can be read under the Uniform Section.

What kind of after school activities are available at the Ambassador International Academy?

We offer 100+ extracurricular activities (ECAs), along with school-managed and paid after-school activities (ASAs) throughout the academic year. These programs support students' physical, social, and emotional development.

Are there opportunities for parent involvement at the Ambassador International Academy?
We offer numerous parental engagement opportunities, including learning walks, curriculum workshops, and coffee mornings. Our Parent Support Group (PSG) members represent parents from different grade levels and organize various community-building events at AIA. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has rated our Parent Engagement & Relationships as Outstanding
What is the application deadline?

Our application process for the new academic year begins in November. Enrolments are subject to seat availability, so we recommend contacting the Admissions Office to confirm availability and secure a place for your child.

Are admissions assessments required?

Assessment requirements depend on the child’s age. Once you submit an inquiry form, our Admissions Team will guide you through the next steps.

  • FS1/Pre-KG – Year 6/Grade 5: Observation Assessment (Interaction or School Reports)
  • Year 7/Grade 6 – Year 11/Grade 10: Submission of School Reports & CAT4
  • Year 12/Grade 11 – Year 13/Grade 12: Submission of School Reports & CAT4 and meeting with the MYP/IB Coordinator or Principal
