Our Curricula at a Glance
Our curricula are designed to provide students with the academic framework they need to succeed in a global environment. Students from different educational backgrounds and countries are able to adapt to our curricula because they are offered at many other international schools around the world.
The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is designed for students between the ages of 3 and 12 years. It is an international, transdisciplinary programme designed to foster the development of the whole child, not just in the classroom but also through other means of learning. The PYP focuses on the total growth of the developing child, touching hearts as well as minds and encompassing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs in addition to academic welfare.
- From ages 3 to 6, students spend time in an immersive, play-based classroom setting in our Early Years section.
- From ages 6 to 11, students enjoy open concept classrooms that emphasise discussion, teamwork and critical thinking in our Primary section.
From ages 12 to 16, students focus on furthering their academic development and personal achievements as they prepare for life beyond school. In the MYP, students receive instruction in eight subject groups; Language Acquisition, Language and Literature, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Physical and Health Education and Design.
The MYP is offered as a three or a five year programme. Students who opt for the five year programme will then have the option of continuing on to the IB Diploma or taking Cambridge A Levels. Students who opt for the three year programme will then take Cambridge IGCSEs in Grades 9 and 10.
The Cambridge IGCSE Programme at Ambassador International Academy aims to help students become learners who acquire the knowledge presented to them while simultaneously developing a deep understanding of the subjects studied.
The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares students, aged 16 to 19, for success at university and life beyond. It has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students. The programme has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.
A Levels are subject based qualifications taken over two years which allow students freedom of choice in the subjects that they study. A Levels are accepted by leading universities around the world.
