Where parents have an issue that they wish to discuss, the first point of contact is the class teacher. In occasional instances where the issue cannot be resolved, the Head of Year would be the next member of staff to be involved. From there, matters are referred to the Deputy PYP Coordinator, the PYP Coordinator, the Head of Primary and, finally, the Principal. Parents are asked to respect this channel of communication and seek resolution to any issue by following this protocol.
The main channel of communication between school and parents is through the D6 School Communicator. The Communicator has the full calendar of school events, news and a resources section with a range of notices, information sheets and policies. The D6 Communicator App can be downloaded onto mobile devices from the Apple or Play Store.
Teachers also communicate regularly with parents via email. Parents are sent weekly communications which detail the learning objectives in key subject areas for the following week.
Each class has a Parent Rep who also disseminates information, usually via the class Whats App group.
